Businesses seeking a sturdy, secure, portable workhorse should consider the ThinkPad R60.

The Lenovo ThinkPad R60 is a 5.4-pound thin-and-light laptop designed for business users. Like all ThinkPad laptops, the R60 offers a broad range of configuration choices, including Intel Celeron M, Core Solo, or Core Duo processors at speeds from 1.5GHz to 2.0GHz; 256MB to 4GB of 667MHz RAM; 40GB to 100GB hard drives at speeds of either 5,400rpm or 7,200rpm; and 14.1-inch or 15-inch displays with either XGA (1,024x768) or SXGA+ (1,400x1,050) native resolutions. Graphics options include an integrated Intel GMA 950 card, a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 with 64MB of VRAM, or the ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with 128MB of VRAM. The R60 comes with a CD-RW/DVD combo drive or a DVD burner, 802.11a/b/g, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA out, Gigabit Ethernet, 56Kbps modem, headphone and microphone jacks, and a PC Card slot. FireWire, S-Video out, a biometric fingerprint reader, WWAN from Verizon, and Bluetooth are all optional. Depending on the configuration, prices range from $1,148 to $4,483.
