LAS VEGAS -- Sun worshippers and outdoorsy types, you can keep your phone's battery going with the EnerPlex Surfr case. It's a rugged, rubberized iPhone 6 case with a solar panel built in to top off your battery when you're far away from an outlet.

The Surfr has a 2700MAh battery built in, which you can switch on when you need a little extra juice. The case promises an extra 375 hours of standby time for your phone and up to 20 hours of talk time.

The solar panel on the back gives you some extra power when the case's battery runs low. Ten minutes sitting in the sun will give you 2 minutes of talk time. You can fully charge the case using the solar panel, but you'll need to let it sit in the sun for around 16 hours. You're better off charging the case overnight using the included charging cable. The case will charge your phone first and then charge the case, and the whole process takes just around four hours.

For a solar-panel case, it's remarkably light and not overly bulky. It's less hefty as other battery cases on the market, which means it won't feel too big or heavy in your hands.

The Surfr will cost $99 when it goes on sale in February 2015. It comes in blue, black and orange and you'll be able to find at Best Buy, Walmart and online retailers. EnerPlex debuted the Surfr case for the iPhone 6 at CES and a case for the iPhone 6 Plus is coming soon.
