On today's episode, we chat about what it's like to play Super Mario Run.

Sarah Tew/CNET

Nintendo's next jump into mobile games has been running on our minds.

We got a sneak peek of Super Mario Run, which comes out for iOS next Thursday and for Android in 2017. It looks and feels like a Mario game, if there was a special level with just one button. We debate whether it's worth the $9.99 price tag, and talk about what future Nintendo mobile games will be like.

Also on the podcast, we discuss Amazon shutting down a rumor that it's opening 2,000 stores. The company told CNET it's not opening 2,000 of anything.

The 3:59 gives you bite-size news and analysis about the top stories of the day, brought to you by the CNET News team in New York and producer Bryan VanGelder.
