Single-player campaign coming to Hearthstone

The first Hearthstone expansion will see players battling through the floating necropolis of Naxxramas, with 30 new cards to be won.

Players wishing for a single-player match in Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft previously had to stick to the practice mode, but now a full single-player mode is on the way. Curse of Naxxramas (coming soon) will allow players to battle across the five wings of Naxxramas, each with its own enemies and boss, culminating with archlich Kel'Thuzad.

The expansion will roll out over the course of five weeks, with a new wing to be explored opening each week. Players can access Curse of Naxxramas via the menu, with the first wing, the Arachnid Quarter, playable for free. After that, players will have to pay an entry fee, either via IAP or in-game currency, to continue.

It may be worth the price of admission — each victory will win you one of the new Naxxramas-themed cards to add to your decks, with 30 cards to be won in total. These cards will also be added to the Arena mix after each wing of the dungeon is open, for all players to enjoy.

Some of these cards can also be won with a new mode: class challenges. In these, players will be given a pre-determined deck to test their skills with the various classes in the game. Winning will score you a Naxxramas card for that class.
