On Wednesday Nintendo outlined the next six months of Switch gaming at its Nintendo Direct keynote, and the first big reveal from the Japanese gaming giant is a new Mario game: Mario Golf Super Rush. It's not far off either, as Nintendo announced the game will hit the Nintendo Switch on June 25.

A trailer shown at Nintendo Direct, a keynote in which the company is announcing the next six months of Switch games, showed how the Joy-Con's motion controls can be used to swing your club, and some of the modes involved. There's a multiplayer Speed Golf mode, in which you and three other players race on the same course to sink your golf ball first. And there's a Story Mode, in which your Mii rises the ranks from rookie to golf pro.

It's the latest sporting adventure for Mario on the Switch, following 2018's Tennis Aces and 2019's Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. It's also Mario's third time on the green, after NES Open Tournament Golf (1987) and the N64's Mario Golf (1999).

It's one of many announcements made at Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, including the a Switch remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Splatoon 3 and the inclusion of Xenoblade Chronicles 2's Pyra and Mytrha in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
