Sony offers peek at PS3 games
"Motor Storm" is one of several forthcoming PlayStation 3 games that Sony showed off in a series of trailers Monday at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. According to GameSpot, "Motor Storm" features cars of all types that race through the desert. The game is being developed by U.K.-based Evolution Studios.
An update of "Formula One" is another game in the works for PlayStation 3. According to GameSpot's Brian Ekberg, the cars have "a spectacularly realistic look to them." Ekberg notes, however, that the franchise hasn't been terribly popular in the United States, and it's unclear whether this game will be released here. "Formula One" is being developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
The trailer for Namco's "Tekken 6" was only 30 seconds long, GameSpot reports, but reviewer Justin Calvert says: "There's no denying the fact that (lead character) Jin Kazama has never looked better. As Jin shows off some of the traditional karate moves that became a part of his repertoire when he ditched the Mishima-ryu fighting style, you can see sweat running down his face and flying off his arms when he throws a particularly violent-looking punch."
"Eyedentify" apparently will let a player appear on screen with two of the game's characters--young female intelligence operatives, according to GameSpot. Reviewer Matthew Rorie notes, however, that the graphics don't seem quite as advanced as that of other games being readied. "We're hoping it winds up to be impressive, but it's up against some pretty stiff competition," he says. The game is being developed by SCEE.
