Yes, we spoke about Pokemon Go last week. And we thought that might be it. Little did we expect that the game would grow to such incredible proportions around the world. Kudos to Niantic and Nintendo, but what's next? The Girt by CNET crew take a look at the thrills, chills and spills of the augmented reality phenomenon.

Of course, if you're after more than a gym fight, maybe you'll like Unified Weapons Master. The high-tech sport aims to use sophisticated, sensor-packed armor to allow experts in various weapons to contest each other with all their skill and range. And mostly safely. I've chatted with the team behind UMW a few times, and can safely say that the vision behind the sport -- and the tech behind the vision -- is truly exciting stuff.
