EA's 'Sims 2' on consoles by fall 2005

Electronics Arts said on Tuesday that its popular "Sims 2" game will be available on all major gaming consoles, handhelds and mobile phones starting this fall.

Leading video game publisher Electronics Arts said on Tuesday that its popular "Sims 2" game will be available on all major gaming consoles, handhelds and mobile phones starting this fall. Versions of the game will be available for Sony's PlayStation2, Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo GameCube, as well as handhelds including the Sony PSP and Nintendo's DS and GameBoy Advance.

The PC version of the game released last September has sold more than 4.5 million copies worldwide. "The Sims," released first in 2000, allows players to create a neighborhood of simulated people and control their lives. "Sims 2," its sequel, features young adults.
