EA revs up new 'Need for Speed' game
"Most Wanted" takes to the streets; players will have to elude cops as they race each other.
A new racing game is set to hit the streets.
"Need for Speed: Most Wanted," the latest offering in the "Need for Speed" series from Electronics Arts, challenges players not only to drive fast in a street racing format but also to elude a police pursuit. "Drivers can tune their cars to compete against any class of vehicles or use their wits to outfox the law," Larry LaPierre, a senior producer with EA Canada, which is developing the game, said in a statement.
The game is expected to be ready for release in November. It's compatible with major gaming consoles including PlayStation, Xbox and GameCube, as well as PCs. Electronic Arts also said "Most Wanted" would be available for "a next generation console." Both Microsoft and Sony are expected to unveil their new systems this spring.
