Though it's about to be replaced, the Series 8 is still a stellar smartwatch -- especially at this price.

Following the Apple Watch Series 9 unveiling, both Amazon and Walmart are slashing Series 8 prices to make room for the new model. That means that if you're not sold on the 2023 device, now's a great opportunity to get a very capable smartwatch for much less, with close to $90 off its retail price.
If you're not clamoring to get your Apple Watch Series 9 preorder in, but you still want a recent smartwatch, this deal on the Apple Watch Series 8 is the way to go. At $89 off at both Amazon and Walmart, this is the second-best price we've seen for the 2022 model and a great opportunity to get what will remain one of the best smartwatches on the market for so much less than it usually costs.
Down as low as $310 for the GPS-equipped, 41mm model, with cellular-enabled versions seeing similar savings, we expect that these deals won't hang around for too long as price-conscious buyers snap up remaining supplies. The Apple Watch Series 8 is being discontinued after the Series 9 ships, so there won't be too much time to secure Apple Watch Series 8 deals.

Though it wasn't a complete revolution over its predecessor, the Apple Watch Series 8 sports some upgrades over the Series 7, including a temperature sensor and ovulation tracking. It's a great choice, particularly if you're getting a smartwatch for the first time or are leveling up from one that's a few generations old.
The Apple Watch Series 8 can track your workouts, temperature and sleep, has safety features like car-crash and fall detection, and allows you to get calls, notifications and reminders right on your wrist. Plus, you can use Apple Pay at the checkout. And while it may not have all the ruggedness of the Apple Watch Ultra, the Series 8 is crack-resistant, IP6X-rated dust-resistant and swim-proof with WR50 water-resistance.
