The folks behind "The Walking Dead" have teamed up with the Terrapin Beer Company to create a (blood) Red IPA for all you zombie fans out there.
People like zombies, and people like beer. Now, thanks to Skybound Entertainment --the folks behind "The Walking Dead" comic books -- and the Athens, Georgia-based Terrapin Beer Company, people will soon be able to drink "The Walking Dead" beer while reading the latest "Walking Dead" comic or watching the latest episode of the TV series based on it.
The official "Walking Dead" beer will be a particularly fitting (blood) Red India Pale Ale that's brewed with blood-orange peel and a "horrific amount of hops" to make the concoction all the more grotesque. The beer's label is pretty horrifying as well, with a zombified version of Terrapin's iconic turtle prominently featured against a backdrop of walkers that can't wait to get their chompers on the brains of all those who dare drink the blood-orange ale.
"The Walking Dead" beer is 6.7 percent alcohol by volume, a pretty typical amount for a red IPA, so be sure not to consume too much if you don't want to turn into a mindless zombie walking the streets of your local city. Of course, please remember to always drink responsibly.
It's not the first zombie-themed beer we've seen -- this beer brewed with goat brains in particular creeped us out in 2014 -- but it is the first official beer partnership with the hit zombie franchise "The Walking Dead." The partnership builds on other recent alcohol-and-TV-series promotions like the "="" wine"="" shortcode="link" asset-type="article" uuid="e890f06e-d164-4197-aabc-bd6c3607745a" slug="wines-of-westeros-let-you-drink-like-a-lannister" link-text="" section="news" title="Wines of Westeros let you drink like a Lannister" edition="us" data-key="link_bulk_key" api="{"id":"e890f06e-d164-4197-aabc-bd6c3607745a","slug":"wines-of-westeros-let-you-drink-like-a-lannister","contentType":null,"edition":"us","topic":{"slug":"culture"},"metaData":{"typeTitle":null,"hubTopicPathString":"Culture","reviewType":null},"section":"news"}"> and "="" beer"="" shortcode="link" asset-type="article" uuid="915e744a-9deb-40fd-89a3-955d590d8248" slug="official-star-trek-beer-lets-you-drink-like-a-klingon" link-text="" section="news" title="Official 'Star Trek' beer lets you drink like a Klingon" edition="us" data-key="link_bulk_key" api="{"id":"915e744a-9deb-40fd-89a3-955d590d8248","slug":"official-star-trek-beer-lets-you-drink-like-a-klingon","contentType":null,"edition":"us","topic":{"slug":"culture"},"metaData":{"typeTitle":null,"hubTopicPathString":"Culture","reviewType":null},"section":"news"}"> we've seen in recent years.
