It seems we know at least one person who'll be making the journey to Middle-earth in the Amazon Prime Lord of the Rings prequel series. Markella Kavenagh is in talks to play Tyra, according to Variety, which cited multiple anonymous sources.

Tyra isn't a name we've heard in any of the books by J.R.R Tolkien (pronounced Tol-KEEN) or the Peter Jackson's adaptations, so she's likely a character or that's some sort of code name. Kavenagh previously had roles in Picnic at Hanging Rock (also an Amazon Prime show) and The Cry, along with the Romper Stomper sequel series.

Earlier this month, Amazon revealed that J.A. Bayona (director of 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) will be directing the first two episodes of the show. In May, Game of Thrones writer and co-executive producer Bryan Cogman was linked to the show as a consultant.

It'll be set during the Second Age, which is the pre-Fellowship of the Ring era when Sauron's Rings of Power were forged.

Neither Amazon nor Kavenagh's representative immediately responded to requests for comment.
