Vitria to repurchase stock

Business software company Vitria Technology said Friday that its board has approved the repurchase of 5 million common shares starting July 29. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company, which has more than 130 share repurchase. The company makes software designed to help companies stitch together incompatible business applications. With a large number of customers in the telecommunications industry, Vitria's business has been adversely affected by the downturn in both the telecom and information technology markets.
