Virtela snags $35 million

Virtela Communications received $35 million in a second round of funding, which was led by Norwest Venture Partners. Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Virtela has raised a total of $75 million. The company provides services for virtual private networks. Other investors contributing to the round included New Enterprise Associates, Palomar Ventures and Juniper Networks.
