TheBrain gets $16 million

TheBrain Technologies announced on Tuesday it received a $16 million second round of financing from lead investor GE Equity, an investment arm of General Electric, as well as from Accenture Technology Ventures and TH Lee Putnam Internet Partners. Representatives from each of the three investors will sit on TheBrain's board. The Santa Monica, Calif.-based company has developed a browser-like image that allows customers to see relationships between information in various databases. With its latest funding, TheBrain has raised $19 million. Previous investors participating in the second round included Jump Investors and Prime Ventures.
