Short Take: Informix hires new accounting firm

Informix dismissed Ernst & Young as its independent accountant and is replacing the firm with KPMG Peat Marwick. The move follows a tumultuous year for the database software maker, which restated its financials going back several years; was hit with several shareholder lawsuits; ousted its chairman and CEO; nearly had its stock yanked from Nasdaq trading; and became the subject of an SEC investigation.
