Short Take: Informix buys software maker

Informix Software has acquired CenterView Software, a maker of tools for database application development. The deal, a cash transaction, will result in a $7 million write-off of in-process research and development costs for the first quarter of this year. The 13 CenterView employees will be based at Informix's Menlo Park, California, headquarters.
