Cayenne Software reported improved second-quarter earnings, though revenue slipped. The software tools marker reported net income of $500,000, or 3 cents a share, for the quarter ended December 31, an improvement over the net loss of $1.3 million, or 8 cents a share, a year ago. Revenues, meanwhile, slipped to $14.8 million for the quarter, down from $19.8 million a year ago. Cayenne attributed its revenue decline to a tightening in the maturing mainframe market.
