Sierra Semiconductor announced the purchase of Ethernet switching technology from Bit of Beaverton, Oregon. In conjunction with the purchase, the employees of Bit have joined PMC-Sierra, a Sierra subsidiary. Sierra will include the purchase as part of the third quarter of 1996.
