Intel has launched a second beta version of its Internet Phone software. The software, introduced in beta form in July, allows users to place calls over the Internet. New features in the beta release include a busy line indicator, call progress indicator, and file download size decreased by one-third. Intel said Internet Phone supports the H.323 communications standard, allowing it to interoperate with upcoming communications software from Microsoft and other vendors. The software can be downloaded for free from Intel's Web site.
