Linux seller Red Hat has named Joanne Rohde as its executive vice president of worldwide operations, where she will oversee the company's services, product integration and computing systems. She'll report to Chief Executive Matthew Szulik, the Raleigh, N.C.-based company said Tuesday.

Rohde previously managed computing equipment for UBS Investment Bank and held similar positions with Warburg, Swiss Bank and O'Connor & Associates. She has experienced firsthand the use and advantages of open-source software such as Linux, Rohde said in a statement.
