Nokia's CES signage remains coy, for now
We all know what's coming, but Nokia's banners outside the CES convention center veil a secret that no longer exists.
At this point, Nokia has little to hide.
Rumors, leaks, and an anonymous confirmation from two New York Times sources has let the Nokia Lumia 900 "Ace" come rushing out of the bag.
In truth, the proverbial bag was pretty wide open anyway. The global release of the Lumia 800 at Nokia World last fall set the expectation of a CES announcement for the U.S. version; its absence at this show would result in shock and disappointment.
Yet despite all this, Nokia is choosing to keep quiet on its Lumia plans as far as its advertising signage is concerned. An oversize banner outside the Las Vegas Convention Center pictures larger-than-life images of the Nokia Lumia 710 (reviewed here for T-Mobile) and the Lumia 800--without the front-facing camera I expect to see on the Lumia 900.
We'll be live-blogging Nokia's press conference Monday at 3:00 p.m. PT, so stick with CNET's live CES coverage for all the details, and perhaps a fresh banner come Tuesday.
