A U.K.-based start-up plans to offer technology that allows customers to search for products based on price or other specific features. Similar to software that allows automakers to search for certain configurations of cars, the technology from Selling Solutions Software
targets needs of small Web merchants. Director James Rowlands said the software, called Solutionbuilder, will build on another product named Solutionfinder, which guides users to a product or service by asking a series of questions. The product is expected to be released next month. No pricing has been announced, the company said.
