McAfee on Monday said it has appointed Roger King to lead worldwide sales, effective Monday. King will be an executive vice president at the Santa Clara, Calif., company and report to Kevin Weiss, McAfee's president. Weiss previously headed up sales, but was promoted to the position of president after the departure of Gene Hodges, who left in January to head Websense.

King was previously president of Software Spectrum, a division of Level 3 Communications. Prior to Software Spectrum, King held positions at Lotus Development, Sterling Software and IBM.
