Fish tailing, off-roading hit cell phones

Cell phone driving game brings some complex options to the usually lean devices.

A new cell phone driving game lets players, gasp, fish tail. Verizon Wireless has broken the cell phone fish-tail barrier. The carrier on Wednesday introduced a cell phone driving game in which for the first time, it says, on-screen cars don't have to follow a pre-set track. The cars can even skid around turns, the carrier says.

To even the most casual of computer gamers, skidding and going off-road are very, very basic attributes of any driving game. But on cell phones, which have very limited processing power to perform such complex digital tasks, it's taken years of research and development to bring this added touch of realism to games.
