BlackBerry maker eyes business programs

Research In Motion said Tuesday it is teaming with Extended Systems in an effort to offer owners of its wireless device access to enterprise applications such as those from Siebel Systems, SAP and Tibco. Boise, Idaho-based Extended Systems helps businesses bring their programs onto mobile devices, including Palm- and Pocket PC-based handhelds.

Extended Systems will build on the new Mobile Data Service feature in RIM's BlackBerry enterprise server software to allow access to existing business applications.
