Navy adds new supercomputer to stable
The Naval Oceanographic Office has bought a new Cray SV1ex supercomputer for supporting Defense Department operations analyzing oceans and seashores. Cray declined to reveal the price for the system but said Tuesday that such computers cost between $1 million and $3 million. The Naval Oceanographic Office already owns several Cray supercomputers.
