Yo Yo IDs callers and blocks calls

Big Island unveiled its Yo Yo call-screening product this week at Macworld. Yo Yo lets users identify, screen, and block calls.

SAN FRANCISCO--Big Island, a computer telephone company, is demonstrating its call screening/routing hardware and software product this week at Macworld. Dubbed Yo Yo, the $130 software program receives Caller ID information from phone lines and displays it on the computer screen.

For each call received, Yo Yo makes sounds like a scream or a laugh, depending on the caller. Yo Yo also performs automatic dialing, routes calls, and block calls, according to officials.

Yo Yo will be available for the Macintosh in April. A Windows version is expected midyear.
