Wind River buys secure networking specialist
Embedded software company spends $20 million on Swedish maker of technology to connect devices securely to the Internet.
Embedded software specialist Wind River Systems has bought software maker Interpeak for $20 million in cash and stock. Interpeak, based in Stockholm, Sweden, develops technology to let devices connect securely to networks such as the Internet, Wind River said in announcing the deal on Monday.
Alameda, Calif.-headquartered Wind River said it intends to sell Interpeak's secure networking technology to device manufacturers as part of platforms based on Linux and its own VxWorks operating system.
