Visa card for Web surfers unveiled

Visa International and Block Financial, a division of H&R Block, have launched the WebCard Visa, a credit card aimed at Internet users.

The card comes with a link to the Web, and users will have access to their credit-card statements online. They will also be able to download account information into personal finance programs like Quicken.

To promote security, company officials said the system is set up so that users' card numbers are never transmitted over the Internet; passwords are used instead.
