VFA raises $4.5 million

Software maker VFA said Tuesday that it has raised $4.5 million in funding from Edison Venture Fund. The company also secured a $2 million line of credit from Brown Brothers Harriman. VFA makes software that helps businesses plan and manage their facilities and real estate assets. Its customers include Abbott Laboratories, FedEx, Harvard University and the city of Houston. Boston-based VFA will use the financing to expand the distribution and support of its products.
