V-One shares explode on server release

Shares of V-One Corp. (Nasdaq: VONE) stormed up 2 17/32, or 113 percent, to a 52-week high of 4 25/32 Tuesday after rolling out its Instant Extranet Server, a security feature aimed at small-to-medium sized businesses.

V-One's product is a Linux-based virtual private network that helps companies secure e-mails, private Web sites and private file transfer protocol servers. The company installs Linux using software from Red Hat Inc. (Nasdaq: RHAT).

Regular IXS pricing is $1,495 for a 15-seat end user license and $3,995 for IXS Gold Edition, which features a 50-seat end user license. As a special introductory promotion, the standard 15-seat license is now available for $995.

V-One shares hit a 52-week low of 1 1/2 last September.

Last quarter, the company lost $4.4 million, or 26 cents a share, on sales of $1 million.

First Call consensus expects it to break even in its third quarter.>
