U.S. Robotics opens door for ISDN and analog

U.S. Robotics has a new server for small to medium-sized companies that will allow easier remote access for both ISDN and analog modem connections.

U.S. Robotics (USRX) announced a new server for small to medium-sized companies that will allow easier remote access for both ISDN and analog modem connections.

The NETServer/8 I-modem and the NetServer/16 I-modem are the only products in the midrange market that universally support both analog and digital connections, the company said. The products automatically terminate analog and ISDN connections on every port. Previously, four different pieces of equipment were required to get similar functions, USR said.

Users need only to plug in to their ISDN service and their local area network, since special software automatically configures the NETServer for the customer application, USR said.

The NetServer/8 I-modem has a list price of $8,995, while the NETServer/16 I-modem is set to retail for $13,995. Both products will begin shipping at the end of September.
