The San Leandro, California-based Trinet said its enhanced service, Enterprise Employer Services (Enterprise ES), will provide customized electronic payroll, benefits, and payroll tax administration services to larger venture-funded start-ups.
Add-ons to the service to meet specific needs of companies are also available, such as an extranet system where employees can access general company and benefit information, along with other human resources and insurance inquiries, the company said in a statement.
The Enterprise ES includes more than 6 program offerings, from benefits enrollment and billing to professional management services that allow Trinet to negotiate benefit plans with an insurance company on its client's behalf or work on existing plans, said Tom Crosby, a Trinet spokesperson.
The service gives growing start-ups a system that will help them handle basic administrative-level business electronically and is cost effective, Trinet CEO Martin Babinec said in a statement. He added, "a small company of around 20 people can have access to a system that handles virtually all core business processes for about the cost of one administrative assistant."
In the past 3 years, the company said it has seen its sales increase from $120 million in 1996 to more than $400 million in 1998. According to the company, the outsourced business services category is growing at a rate of 30 percent annually.
The privately held company said its services are priced between $80 to $170 monthly per employee, depending on the size of the company.
