TI opens design center

Texas Instruments opened a new design center in Taiwan on Tuesday. The TI Information Appliance Design Center will focus on applying TI's digital signal processor technology to Web-surfing appliances and related devices. "What is common among these so-called 'information appliances' is that they require high digital signal processing performance and highly efficient energy consumption and low power to extend battery life," Terry Cheng, president of TI Asia, said in a statement.
