WRQ has released new software for building e-commerce applications that can link to data from mainframe, AS/400, VAX and UNIX computing systems. The new development tool, called Apptrieve, includes a software development kit; a server that runs the applications, and software that lets programmers link to existing data simply by pointing and clicking. Apptrieve will ship September 30. The software developer kit costs $995, while pricing for the server starts at $20,000.
