US West and FaxNet have signed a $35 million deal to provide fax services to phone customers in 14 states. The services, which will be aimed at consumers and businesses of all sizes, are designed to reduce dependence on fax machines with dedicated phone lines by sending faxes via an Internet connection. They will be marketed under the brand name US West FaxPower.
