Short Take: US West stakes Netpliance

Netpliance, an Internet appliance services company, announced today that US West will take a minority equity stake in the company. Under the terms of the agreement, US West will assume a position on Netpliance's board of directors. The investment is also expected to lead to a strategic relationship for the distribution of Netpliance's I-opener, a consumer Internet appliance package.
