Short Take: Telxon sells Itronix

Telxon is selling its notebook subsidiary, Itronix, to Dynatech for $65 million. Telxon is selling its subsidiary in order to concentrate on its core mobile computing, wireless networking, and systems integration businesses. The deal will give Dynatech wireless computers designed to withstand rugged conditions for its industrial/scientific markets. Telxon said it will post a pre-tax gain of about $35 million as a result of the transaction.
