Short Take: SyQuest reports widening Q3 loss

SyQuest Technology has reported a net loss of $42.5 million, or 42 cents a share, for its third quarter, compared with a loss of $10.7 million, or 31 cents a share, a year ago. Excluding a special finance charge, the removable storage maker would have posted an operating loss of $32.6 million. Its revenues rose 41 percent over the year-ago period, to $44.7 million.
