Short Take: Siemens to license, resell Extreme gear

The recently formed Siemens Information and Communications Network Group of Siemens announced plans to license and resell networking equipment from gigabit-speed start-up Extreme Networks. The agreement is intended to address the needs of customers combining previously separate voice and data networks and follows a March 1998 $3 million investment in Extreme by Siemens. Siemens will handle all service and support related to Extreme products sold through its sales channels.
