Short Take: Siebel, Palm team on software for handhelds
Siebel Systems teamed with 3Com's Palm Computing to jointly sell and market applications for Palm Pilot handhelds. As part of the agreement, Siebel said it will initially combine its customer relationship management (CRM) applications with the Palm address book, calendar and to-do applications, allowing users to synchronize data. The initial offering will be available this spring; Siebel's applications will work with additional Palm products in the future. Siebel rival Oracle has also partnered with Palm to provide its CRM applications on Palm mobile devices.
