Internet security vendor Secure Computing has released a free add-on for its BorderWare Firewall Server 4.0 that helps ward off the "SYN flooding" attacks that have paralyzed several ISPs recently. The add-on, available from any Secure Computing VAR, uses an operating system modified for security to keep the denial of service attack from affecting the firewall server.
