Short Take: Sameday.com receive $20 million investment

Sameday.com announced today that it has received $20 million in second-round venture funding from Accel Partners and Idealab. The same-day shipping service plans to use the money to fund its marketing efforts, technology improvements and expansion into new metropolitan areas. The City of Industry, Calif.-based company, which operates in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles, plans to open fulfillment centers and begin service in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Washington, D.C., and Seattle by the end of the year.
