Short Take: NEC Computer to serve corporate notebook customers

NEC Computer Systems will roll out a new service program Monday aimed primarily at its corporate notebook users. The Versa UltraCare Services program will allow users to select different levels of warranty protection and on-site service for its Versa notebooks. Although once given out for free, manufacturers have begun to charge for services to bolster thin profit margins and recover costs.
