Short Take: Mixed bag for Allaire
Software maker Allaire today reported a second-quarter loss of $213,000, or 2 cents a share, compared with a loss of $3.8 million, or 49 cents a share, during the year-ago quarter. First Call predicted a 4 cent per share loss. Including one-time charges, including the purchase of Live Software, Allaire lost $2.9 million, or 26 cents. Second-quarter revenue shot up to $13.1 million, up 172 percent from last year's $4.8 million.
