Short Take: Microsoft updates Host server
Microsoft has released a beta version of its Host Integration Server 2000, software that allow businesses to link corporation information from mainframe computers to the Web. It also supports access to IBM DB2 databases and support for Microsoft's software programming model called COM+. The server, which is expected to ship in mid-2000, will also allow IBM's MQ Series' messaging software to communicate with Microsoft's Message Queue Server messaging software.
