Merisel announced results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 1996. After a $2 million charge associated with the company's Franchise and Aggregation Business, the company had net income of $1.7 million, or 6 cents per share, for the fourth quarter, compared to a loss of $77.3 million, or $2.59 per share, for the same quarter a year ago. For the year, the company had a net loss of $140.4 million, compared to a net loss of $83.9 million in 1995. Revenues for the quarter were $1.2 billion, down from $1.5 billion for the fourth quarter of 1995. The year's revenues were $5.5 billion, down from $6 billion the year before.
