Lockheed Martin has spun off Real 3D as an independent corporation. Lockheed Martin has retained majority ownership, and chip maker Intel has purchased a 20 percent minority interest in the developer and producer of real-time, three-dimensional graphics technology products. The chip giant, which is developing an integrated 3-D/2-D/video graphics chip, called Intel740, also will have a non-voting observer seat on Real 3D's board.
