Short Take: kforce lays off 150 in second quarter

Online staffing firm kforce.com said today it laid off about 150 workers in the second quarter to reduce costs. Chief financial officer William Sanders said in a statement the staff reductions were a result of upgrades in systems and support structure and the decision to outsource its Web site hosting. He said the cuts will result in a one-time adjustment to earnings but should increase profitability in the second half of the year.
